Hitting New Highs

I've completed my fifth week of the Navy Special Warfare Physical Training program, and I have put on 5.4 pounds.  Changes to my physical appearance have been subtle, but I do have some measurable improvements in speed, strength, and endurance.  Here is how I am progressing toward my goals, as defined by the Navy Physical Readiness Standard for males 25-29 years old:

Goal: 101 sit-ups with no rest
Current:  85 (Excellent-Low) a 55% increase
Starting: 55 (Good-Low)
Goal: 84 push-ups with no rest
Current: 67 (Excellent-Low) a 37% increase
Starting: 49 (Good-Low)
Goal: 1.5-mile run in 8:55
Current: 11:54 (Good-High) I haven't been running.
Starting/Previous: 11:54 (Good-High)
Goal: 500-yard swim in 6:38
Current: 8:20 (Excellent-Medium) a 15% improvement
Starting: 9:49 (Good-Medium)

Needless to say, I'm feeling good.  I am gaining weight at a safe rate and making improvements where I had hoped.  I'll be on the road for Week Six, so I may have to be creative to get everything in, but I won't be taking a break.
